Six songs of tense, angular post-hardcore from SPARES — a new band made up of folks from Amusement, FeverSleep, Youth League, North Lincoln, and Lock & Key. Their debut EP hits somewhere between the wiry chaos of Drive Like Jehu, These Arms Are Snakes, and At The Drive-In, with the grit of Jawbox and The Jesus Lizard, and incorporates the raw emotion of the early '90s San Diego scene that revolved around Gravity Records. SPARES came together in early 2024, locked in their lineup, and got to work writing what would become this self-titled debut. There's a lot of familiar DNA here, but SPARES twist it into something that feels their own — tense, moody, and soaked in that gray Pacific Northwest atmosphere. Six songs. No filler. All heart.
